About-
Safe Harbor Investments main concern is for our clients. We have been trading the market for over 20 years. In September of 2009 we decided to take our service to the world wide web to assist traders in both their performance and knowledge about the markets. Our approach is based on technical analysis, we let the markets dictate the trade to be taken, we have no bias.
We let our trades speak for themselves. We don’t show snippets of when we have been on a hot streak. We show every trade that is taken and it is recorded for the public to see (please click on the performance tab). Every evening members will be provided with a detailed report that includes the previous day’s trading activity with analysis and the trading plan for the next day with both day trade and swing trade targets for both the ES and SPY. The report is concise and to the point, we do not fill our reports with immaterial information that is unnecessary.
Focus-
Safe Harbor Investments focuses primarily on day trades and swing trades which may last anywhere from one day to two weeks.
Philosophy-
We’ve taken the approach here at Safe Harbor Investments that nothing is ever certain and trading maybe one of the most uncertain endeavors people undertake, but we also believe with the proper risk management and position management, trading can be one of the most fulfilling experiences you will ever encounter. Our philosophy is to always wait for the opportunity to come to us rather than being aggressive and take unnecessary risk. Our model is best suited for day traders and short-term to swing traders. We also understand that there are many styles of trading, and we know not every style will fit each person.
Strategy -
We have found after many years of study that the art of trading is so much more than placing a trade, an example of one of the factors our models look at is the current range the market is in, and where we are in that range. Knowing those two pieces of information helps with both our position management and money management of our trades. As mentioned previously one of our main concerns is risk. All trades before placed have there risk defined, potential profit target and position management targets.
Placing Trades-
Our target on daytrades ranges from 5-10+, we also try to eliminate risk as soon as possible, this means that after our trade has been filled we will automatically place an order to sell/cover half that position once the difference between our entry and our stop price have been met to make the trade a “risk-free” trade. An example: We enter the market long at ES 1050 with a stop at 1048. Once the order has been filled we will place a sell order for half the position at 1052.
Our target for swing trades ranges from 10-30+, when we enter swing trades we will only “leg” into the position, typically 25% of intended capital. Additionally we will leg out of our position at critical support/resistance areas. Swing trading has more to do with position management and money management than exact entry price. As we mentioned above we look to see where the market is trading relative to its current range and begin legging in near the outer boundaries.
Trading Instruments-
Our primary trading vehicles are the ES and SPY. ES is the symbol for the mini S & P 500 index future, and SPY is the symbol for an ETF that tracks the S&P 500 index, commonly called SPDR (spider). In addition, we keep track of multiple indexes and individual stocks and will post trades if any of those instruments fit our risk profile. As a member you will be able to submit stock requests to the traders. They will provide their personal analysis which will include entry level, stop price, along with profit targets.
Please join us if you feel your style of trading fits our style.
